RCSTT counsellors engage a wide cross-section of women, men and children of the local and migrant populations in Trinidad and Tobago free of charge. During the COVID-19 lockdown measures our counselling team had to adapt, shifting the counselling model to remote facilitation. A blend of telephone and video conferencing facilitated therapy was provided to our clients. We now offer both in-person and virtual counselling sessions.
Counsellors collaborate with clients, helping them meet their individual goals of addressing various life challenges, coping with situational issues, and confronting traumatic occurrences.
Presenting challenges among our clients include being a victim of sexual and gender-based violence, including but not limited to domestic/intimate partner violence (DV/IPV), rape, and sexual harassment; homophobia; xenophobia; human trafficking; child abuse/neglect; bereavement; financial/lifestyle challenges; and being victim to theft/random acts of violence.
RCSTT supports children, couples, families and LGBTQ+ identified persons affected by these challenges.
